JobServe were the world's first Internet Recruitment Service.
The company was formed late in 1993 by myself, Robbie Cowling, an IT contractor
with no previous experience of running a business and John Witney, another IT
contractor who also had no previous experience of running a business.
So what gave us the idea of setting up JobServe in the first place? Well, at
this time the IT recruitment market was just coming out of recession and John
and myself, whilst both contracting at the same company, were discussing how
difficult it was to locate jobs by reading out of date job adverts in
recruitment magazines. We were working on a contract where every one used email
and thought how good it would be to receive a daily email of the latest jobs
that matched a given criteria. No one was offering the service, the Internet

Before JobServe was formed in 1993 as the world’s first
Internet recruiter it was much more difficult to find and apply for a suitable
job than it is today. As time has moved on and with it the need to change jobs

staff will painstakingly classify the skills and locations of every job we
advertise to guarantee best matching.
Provide More Choice
Jobs can be searched for on our web site or delivered to you in a number of
ways including email, SMS text messaging, an RSS feed or you can even telephone
one of our computers who will use Voice to Text technology to read out the
details of a specific job.
Keep it Simple
We then have the simplest of methods of applying for a position. All of our
jobs can be applied for online with the advertisers own specified application
form and our site remembers your application answers and will pre-fill future
applications that ask for the same information.
Offer a Complete Service
And finally we complete the service by providing an excellent tool that allows
you to track each of your job applications from the initial application to the
point where you find and accept the role of your choice.
